Nara

On my second visit to Japan I went on a half day trip using Viator to Nara,Japan’s first permanent capital.

As I had never been to this area before it was nice to be taken here although I would like to go back again and spend more time here now I feel more confident travelling around Japan. I would especially like to visit the many other temples and garden that Nara has to offer.

The half day tour took us to the Todai-ji Temple

With its friendly deer that will bow their heads for a cracker.

The temple with the Daibutsuden (big Buddha hall) is the largest wooden building in the world housing a 15 meter tall bronze Buddha.

Also on the tour we were taken to Kasuga Taisha a beautiful shrine famous for its lanterns.
